Gyoza EcoLunchBox Solo Bento

It's gyoza day! This is always a hit with the kids, guaranteed. And I know traditionally you don't add extra minced choy or spinach, but in my house you do! And you don't even hear any complaints about it because gyoza is so much fun to eat! I used a mixture of ground pork and turkey, and also added green onion, shoyu and sesame oil. You can send along a little container of dipping sauce (or not). I packed these in our EcoLunchBox Solo Cube atop a few garden lettuce leaves and golden (and cherry) tomatoes. The little side Dipper holds just the right amount of sliced nectarines, grapes, and a strawberry. Yummy!

  1. Do you eat them up in the morning so they're warm at lunch time ?

    1. No, but you can do that. If you heat them up, let them cool down to room temp before packing. Then they can be eaten at room temp (no need to be warm).

  3. Hi there, have stumbled on your blog since I'm just getting into bento lunch-making for my kids, and I love all your ideas! Do you recommend the ecolunchbox over the lunchbots? Do you think single-cube containers are more versatile than divided ones, or vice-versa? I've been trying to decide on a stainless steel container for my 3rd grader and kindergartener. Thanks!

    1. Howaboutcookie,
Since you have 2 kids with likely varying appetites, I would recommend at least two different types of boxes. I personally love both LunchBot and EcoLunchbox styles. The divided ones are great for packing different flavors separately (like fruit vs. pickles) and the cubes are better for sandwiches and other (dry) things that don't need to be kept separate. Hope this helps!
