Okay, ready for more spring blossoms?
Pink sakura (beet-dyed satsumaimo), white plum (plain satsumaimo), and um, carrot flowers. I made chicken "medallions" using an egg/flour mix and pan-frying. The kids love chicken like this, and I don't know why! It's really easy and they don't even ask for any sauce although I like sriracha. I tried making him a smallish musubi, hoping he'll start to like eating more rice. Plus it made a nice background for the pink flowers. Steamed broccoli and enoki mushrooms complete this bowl. Other bowl contains three super juicy strawberries and a little clementine.
Am I overdoing the flowers theme bento? Can't help it. Got flowers on the brain -- everything blooming over here right now!

ReplyDeletelots of sweet blooms here, lovely!
ReplyDeleteVery colorful and spring-like! So many flowers and so artistic! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spring bento! Sean is like MM too- not much of a rice eater unless it's with stew, curry, or soup! Paige is the exact opposite and loooooves her rice. The chicken sounds delish, simple is always yummy!
ReplyDeleteThanks megan, yay for flowers!
ReplyDeleteThanks javapot :)
Thanks Lyndsey, appreciate it :)
Thanks Susan, wonder why that is? It's the only thing he'll say there was "too much" of :)
Agree with everyone here. This bento is so pretty with all those flowers and colors. I like the pink sakura! You made some works there. Hope to see more colorful spring bento from you Sheri :)
ReplyDeleteI doesn't look to flowery to me!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Lia and Fluteloop! You encourage me... well, you'll probably see lots more flowers then :D
ReplyDeleteHi sheri! No, never too many flowers! Bring it on! I like the little white flowers... the best but I don't know why either1 LOL

ReplyDeleteThanks friends!
ReplyDeleteDebra, Lil'chan, Marisa, Bento Box, Ingrid -- you folks are the best! Yay for spring flowers :D
Not overdoing the flowers at all! It puts me in a nice springy mood :D which is good because we're having cold weather and lots of rain, yuck!
ReplyDeleteWell I love all the flowers! Our daffodils are just beginning to bloom here, always our first sign of spring. Love the enoki--they always look so delicate, but I rarely buy them because I'm the only one who likes them, sigh.
ReplyDeleteNever too many blooms, especially charming sherimiya-style. Love these bentobouquets!
ReplyDeleteJenn, sorry to hear about the rain. I'll cross fingers for sunshine your way soon :)
ReplyDeleteveganf, I'm with you! Too warm here for daffs..I can get mine to bloom some years, but not well. Enoki tastes great quick sauteed with garlic powder too.
Yay for bentobouquets! Thanks bentobird! Wish I had irises and crocuses like yours :)
